The Motorola Xoom tablet is just another example how visually simple products can be shown in a 3d real-time application. Beside the other example of mobile devices this project is using another type of graphical user interface. This GUI uses 3d geometry which can be lightened as well as the main object. The buttons can be animated and may improve the overall impression alot. It is possible to create kind of fancy user interfaces that will look totally different to a normal one with simple buttons around the viewport. Another advantage of “real” 3d buttons is, they are also post processed by using image effects. Glow and bloom effects may also be visible using buttons this way.
